2 Digit by 1 Digit Multiplication Practice

2-digit × 1-digit multiplication is the bridge between memorized facts and full-blown long multiplication. Once kids can comfortably handle problems like 47 × 8, the rest of multi-digit work falls into place because they've already mastered carrying and place value. This drill keeps the 1-digit factor between 2 and 9 (skipping easy zeros) and the 2-digit factor between 10 and 99 — so every problem requires real work. If your child gets stuck, have them break the 2-digit number into tens and ones (47 = 40 + 7, then 8 × 40 = 320, 8 × 7 = 56, sum to 376).
