Featured Decimals Practice

Grade 4 Decimals Practice

Practice grade 4 decimals with introductory decimal concepts. Fourth grade introduces decimals through their connection to fractions and place value.

Grade 5 Decimals Practice

Practice grade 5 decimal operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Fifth grade develops fluency with decimal computation.

Grade 5 Decimals Quiz

Test your grade 5 decimal skills with this quiz covering all four operations with decimals. Questions are randomized to verify true computational fluency.

Grade 6 Decimals Practice

Practice grade 6 decimal multiplication and division. Sixth grade develops fluency with multiplying and dividing decimals including those less than one.

Converting Fractions to Decimals Practice

Practice converting fractions to decimals by dividing the numerator by the denominator. Some fractions convert to terminating decimals while others become repeating decimals.

Decimal Speed Test

Test your decimal calculation speed with this quick challenge. How fast can you solve basic decimal operations? Speed builds decimal fluency.

Place Value with Decimals Practice

Practice identifying place values in decimal numbers including tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. Understand the value of digits after the decimal point.

Comparing and Ordering Decimals Practice

Practice comparing and ordering decimal numbers. Line up decimal points and compare digit by digit from left to right.

Adding Decimals Practice

Practice adding decimal numbers. Line up the decimal points and add as with whole numbers, placing the decimal in the answer.

Subtracting Decimals Practice

Practice subtracting decimal numbers. Line up the decimal points and subtract as with whole numbers, borrowing when needed.

Multiplying Decimals Practice

Practice multiplying decimal numbers. Multiply as with whole numbers, then count total decimal places in both factors to place the decimal in the product.

Dividing Decimals Practice

Practice dividing decimal numbers. When dividing by a decimal, multiply both numbers by a power of 10 to make the divisor a whole number.

Rounding Decimals Practice

Practice rounding decimals to the nearest whole number, tenth, and hundredth. Decimal rounding is essential for working with measurements and money.

Converting Decimals to Fractions

Convert decimals to fractions in simplest form. This skill helps students move fluently between different number representations.

Decimals Speed Test

Challenge your decimal skills with this comprehensive speed test. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals in timed practice.

Free Decimals Practice for Grade 4

Fourth grade is when decimals show up for real, and the single biggest mistake students make is forgetting to line up the decimal points. These add-and-subtract problems use tenths so the calculations stay manageable while your child builds the habit of writing problems vertically and aligning the decimal first. If they're getting wrong answers, look at their scratch work — nine times out of ten, it's a misalignment, not a math error. Once that habit is solid, decimal arithmetic follows the same rules as whole numbers.

Compare Decimals Practice

A surprising number of kids think 0.45 is bigger than 0.5 because '45 is bigger than 5.' Comparing decimals is the moment students have to confront that decimal place value works differently than they expect. The fix is to read decimals from left to right, comparing one place at a time, and to add trailing zeros when needed (0.5 = 0.50). Each problem here goes to the hundredths place so your child learns to handle the cases that trip people up, not just the obvious ones.

About Decimals

Decimals extend place value to represent parts smaller than one. Students learn to read, compare, and calculate with decimals — skills essential for money, measurement, and science.
